I am a Prospective: Student Parent

Residential Life

Residential life is at the core of the Kents Hill Community. At Kents Hill students find a safe place in which they can call their home during the school year. Students at Kents Hill form lifelong friendships with their peers and each student feels valued and known by the faculty on campus. The relationships that are formed on campus are what truly makes the Kents Hill Experience a great one.

All students, boarding and day, belong to one of five residence halls, which include a variety of rooms: singles, doubles and even suite style rooms. At least two faculty families reside in each residence hall, and faculty supervise residence halls each night and every weekend. Many faculty also live with their spouses, children and pets in the residence halls which promotes a feeling of community for our students. Regular residence hall meetings occur on a bi-weekly basis and provide students with a forum to discuss residence hall policies and day to day living issues with faculty and student leaders.

Every weekday, the Student Center is open, providing a variety of school, grocery and personal items for sale. Laundry services are available through an off-campus service with pick-up/delivery to each residence hall; laundry facilities are also available in each residence hall. Meals are provided on campus by SAGE Dining Services, who make every effort to provide innovative menus and a variety of offerings which are sensitive to cultural and medical issues.

The school also helps students connect with various local faith communities for special holidays and family weekends. The chaplain and other faculty assist students who take initiative to form campus faith groups. Students are always welcome for worship and community events at Readfield United Methodist Church, a short walk from campus and the home church of Kents Hill's chaplain, Rev. Desi Larson. Rev. Larson is also available for spiritual counseling.

Committed to a strong set of core values, Kents Hill students learn to be leaders in their community and their environment, in a family atmosphere where each student is encouraged to reach his or her potential.
